Best Digimon Deck in January 2023

This January, Greymons takes the throne.

The results are out. The best Digimon deck in January 2023 is the black and red colored Greymon deck variants. According to digimonmeta.com until the 28th of January, Black Red Greymon decks have won 14 tournaments. Beelzemon decks got 2nd place with 7 wins. In third place is Blue Flare with 6 tournament wins. Here is the standing for decks with the most wins in January 2023:

1. Black Red Greymon - 14 wins

2. Beelzemon - 7 wins

3. Blue Flare - 6 wins

4. Bloomlordmon / Plant - 5 wins

5. UlforceVeedramon - 5 wins

For those who didn't know, here are some info on those winning decks:

1. Black Red Greymon

Greymon tribal decks has many cards to choose from. BT11 brought us BlackWarGreymon X line, BT12 gave us the Raid Wargreymon line, and both lines are good! This deck's strength lies in its large selection of cards to use. Your opponent won't know exactly what to expect because every deck has a slightly different stack of inherited effects and can end on different boss Digimons.

For Lv2s, you can use the ever-popular BT5 Koromon as a draw engine, or BT9 Koromon to boost DP. There are many good Lv3  to pick from: The newest BT12 Agumon, Agumon X-Antibody from BT9 and BT11, or the good old BT5 Agumon. All of those have searching abilities when played, increasing consistency.

For Champions, the new BT12 Greymon plays a Taichi from hand for free. The classic ST1 Greymon gives Security Attack +1. Another nice pick would be BT9 and BT11 Greymon X. BT9 Greymon gives better protection inheritable than BT11 Greymon X, but BT11 Greymon X gives a discount for evolution cost should you prefer faster digivolution than protection. Some build even use EX1 Greymon which plays Taichi and BT8 Greymon which gives Blocker.

BT12 MetalGreymon gives piercing as inheritable. BT8 MetalGreymon also sees play because of its useful ability to De-Digivolve 1 of the opponent's Digimon. Both of them pair nicely with BT11 Greymon X-Antibody. To complete the Lv5 lineup, MetalGreymon X-Antibody, and P-072 MetalGreymon: Alterous Mode will give another inheritable to make your stack even more powerful.

This deck also not lacking in the boss category. BT8 BlackWarGreymon to destroy tamer, BT12 WarGreymon with Raid, Gaiomon, WarGreymon X Antibody, Blitz Omegamon, Omegamon X Antibody, you name it.

Perhaps the biggest draw on why Greymon is the current best deck relies on its pretty powerful Option card: Hades Force. This Option card has the ability to wipe out many Tamers on the field. Against a deck that needs many Tamers on play like Xros Heart, Blue Flare, and Hunters, this card is pretty devastating.

2. Beelzemon

Advance Deck ST14 gave a huge boost to Beelzemon deck in the form of new evolution line. In BT12, this deck received yet another boost with the release of the X-Antibody form of Impmon, Wizardmon, Baalmon, and Beelzemon himself.

BT12 Beelzemon X-Antibody gives the deck ability to trash multiple security on digivolve. After you clear your opponent's securities, it is preferable that Beelzemon X-antibody would digivolve into the new ST14 Beelzemon Blast Mode. Beelzemon Blast Mode then unsuspends itself, then attacking your opponent directly, and finishing the game.

Beelzemon decks received more ways to trash their cards and become slightly more consistent. If you can get past its setup phase and mill more than 20 cards fast enough, this deck will become super explosive.

3. Blue Flare

While most Greymons are red or black, there are also Greymons that are blue colored. They are members of Blue Flare decks. While Blue Flare didn't win as much as black and red Greymon, they also cannot be underestimated.

Blue Flare, like Xros Heart and Hunter, is a deck that relies on its Tamers and its Save ability. Digimons with Save ability when deleted will place themselves under Tamers instead of normally going to trash, ready to be used again as fuel for DigiXros summoning. This mechanic means that this deck will not have to worry about resources.

This deck wants to set up its Tamer first before committing any play. But after the initial setup, this deck can DigiXros turn after turn using its saved Digimons under its Tamer. This deck is also capable of freezing an opposing Digimon by making them unable to attack or block for a turn.

EX4 gives Blue Flare another playset of blue MetalGreymon, boosting its consistency and offensive option. This support makes Blue Flare stay relevant in tournaments.

4. Bloomlordmon

Bloomlordmon is a green deck that uses a multitude of Plant, Vegetation, and Fairy Digimons to swarm the field as fuel for its effect. Bloomlordmon has a multitude of effects that revolve around suspending your own Digimon. So it wants to summon multiple Digimon to the field and suspend them to gain effects.

BT12 gives the deck Quartzmon, a new Lv7 green boss that plays very nicely with Bloomlordmon's gimmick that involves suspending Digimon. Additionally, Quartzmon makes any other cards on the field can't unsuspend, which severely limits the opposing player's action.

5. UlforceVeedramon

UlforceVeedramon is the fastest Royal Knight in the lore. True to its lore, UlforceVeedramon deck is aiming to finish their opponent quickly. BT11 UlforceVeedramon line combined with BT11 Shinomiya Rina will be able to attack multiple times as long as you have multiple Blue Tamer in hand.

BT12 introduces UlforceVeedramon X-Antibody to the fray, further enhancing its abilities to finish your opponent quickly by attacking and unsuspending multiple times in a turn. This support proves effective at boosting the deck's performance at tournaments.

There are also build that plays blue Hybrid Digimons. They mesh very well with the deck because Ulforce naturally plays a lot of blue Tamer and would love the additional attack that these Hybrids provide.

Those decks are the best Digimon deck in January 2023. If you want to pick a deck to compete, those decks are some of the best options for you available. New Boosters are expected to shift the metagame and introduce new winning strategies, so always tune in for more info!
